Cutting edge for its time, this shape reflects the more Space Age sensibility to fashion beginning in the 60's by Courrèges. Everyone wanted to find a hat that was modern and at the same time made a statement. Taste was changing and the youth market was surging. This was a new concept and quickly reached the target audience, it also represented the last era of wearing hats for fashion rather than utilitarian warmth as we tend to do today.
